Default 3/4 inch styro

I am building a tank that is 90x30x27. Am wondering if 3/4 inch styrofoam is too thick for the tank? I have heard 1/2 inch is ideal but does it matter if one goes thicker? Any thoughts???
Thanks
Cam

what colour is it? I don't like the white stuff, it is too soft and I would not go 3/4 with it.
The red or blue I would

Red or Blue? Do you mean the insulation stuff? At Rona there is sheets of white, then the blue stuff is for housing insulation. Never seen red before.

Don't use the white.. Use the blue, some home stores also carry pink. That's safe to use also.
