Myka, No it isn't photsynthetic I don't think. I feed it alot. Coral frenzy and blender leavings
If they don't move or react when you touch them, then they aren't spaghetti worms. I'm more likely to think it is an algae then.

Dang! That is an awesome gorg! You're doing something right to be keeping it alive.

My fear with the gorg is: I have been running a way undersized skimmer for 7months and I think that is why I have unbelieveable amounts of feather dusters and what not. now I have a "proper" sized skimmer. I will have to watch the gorg to see what happens. I just went through the pics of the spagettii worms and am fairly sure those are whats in there.

Spaghetti worms move though...and react if you touch them, but they do look like spaghetti worms... *shrug*

That gorg has grown about 20-25% since I got it in dec
