That all depends on what part of town you are moving to and where the tank is in your house. I have a tank that gets the sun all day and i need a chiller all the time.

Central air and no chiller though do have a couple of small muffin fans over the sump on a temperature controller.

As with CA the house stays the same temp year round, would say if don't need a chiller in winter, you wouldn't need one in summer.

and NBH, ya you might.

im in kelowna and none of the main windows open so it heats up a lot. i got an ac unit but it is working at max to keep temp at a comfy level. now this summer i have halides as well so i will be running a small chiller.

I was going to get a chiller last summer as my temps hit 85, but ended up getting a ac for the room and it brought my temps back down to 78 where i had the heater set to.

This way i made my wife happy as the room is now comfertable as well and i only needed to buy one ac unit

If you look at my photobucket there is a window next to my tank I keep a room conditioner in that window. I am hoping it keeps the tank cool enough. If it doesn't, central air it is, the wife will think it is for the house. Just don't tell
