How's the camera for taking video? Does it focus well on the tank? My last Sony Cybershot was horrible for tank pics.

I honestly don't know Catherine. I use this camera very little, so one charge usually lasts me quite awhile. My best guess would be about 2-4 hours of constant use depending on how often its being turned on and off, and flash use.
