Indeed, the macro is... well, not very macro! You do have to be quite far away for it to be effective, but the pictures are beautiful and the 'scene' mode makes taking great pictures easy. I tend to fiddle with the autofocus a lot, going back and forth from the normal mode to the macro mode... and it's nice that you can set the priority re: aperture or shutter.

Oooh, just took this picture today... this is what this camera is made for, beautiful shots with natural light...
