Ok....nitrates wernt high( not that 15 is that terrible). The nitrate test kit I was using was a left over from the fresh water days. I picked up an API ( not the best I know but, no salifert so...) and it tested out twice at 0 (surprised me actually). So this leads me to believe the swelling is the result of an injury. I dont know if all regals are like this but mine does this "happy dance" after a feed where he rips around the tank in top speed bursts. He has made a couple sps frags for me this way so this is likely when it happened. Removing the tang for treatment would be a huge undertaking  Everything I read seems to suggest a week or two for a healing time. Its been a little over a week. I hate seeing him like this  |
