Got the 5000K (which took a bit of looking in Edm) and at first just set it aside as was still hoping for the 6500K. When finally figured the only way was to special order in the higher temp, just used the 5000k.

The 5000K grows better then a old 28W Quad PC 6500K I was using before (then again had that bulb for 2yrs+ and assembly was bought used).

I use Philips 27W CF Daylight bulbs that I buy at Home Depot. If you look really hard on the back you can usually find where it says 6500K in very small writing...

Heres a link showing what the 15W ones look like.

That 5500K spiral CF spotlight fuge bulb I got at RONA (very similar to the one in Mark's pic) does spit out some pretty good PAR. Here are the results I had with my PAR meter against the 2x39W Coralife PC fixture about my QT:

My 23W CF 5500K spotlight in the fuge (1 year old bulb):
-124 above water 6" from bulb
-54 just below surface
-21 12" deep
-8 20" deep

My 2x39W PC fixture (10,000K[brand new] and actinic [ancient]) 12" above my QT:
-42 at water's surface
-15 at 6" deep
-9 at 18" deep

That's some difference.

Was thinking about setting up a small frag tank, if I do just might line the hood with CF.
