Yes it can send you status messages when ever you want up to 20 times a day, it is not just for alarms.

GHL are working on something a lot more sophisticated than what is available elsewhere and will be part of the PIII which of course will roll down to the PII users that do not wish the upgrade.

Regarding the webserver tho...can the unit be controlled through a webpage or can stats be viewed live from a webpage? My phone could do the rest =)

No this is SMS text only to phone.

Email is already available and so is internet access of the profiLux
