I've found the ELOS kit to be more difficult to use. (I hate counting drops...) But it does seem to give the same results as the Salifert - within the general accuracy of things.

Just checked J&L's water with my elos alk kit and their water is in perfect 8.5 Dkh !
So my test is ok.
I guess regular small water changes will be my thing to do over next few weeks...

Just shut shut down the reactor until your alk drops. If your calcium drops too much you can add Calcium Chloride to raise the level. It's amazing your pumps haven't seized with that high of an Alk level.

Yah, my tunzes are getting regular vinegar bath, no choice because of annoing allarms but this is very cool feature , saves the pumps for sure !
