Its not just gas.....I bought an electric air compressor....same thing. It ran for about 30 seconds and quit. I took it back to the CrappyTire store and they told me I would have to ship it back to the supplier (Texas..)at my cost AND I would have to pay for the return freight. They figured it would cost me about the same as buying another unit.

Since I didn't have a warranty I torn it down and figured out what the problem was.

And the nail gun that was included with the compressor.... lasted for 15 nails.

I don't buy near as much from them as I used too. But when I am in there I warn people that they need to ask about the return policy when I walk by....even if they are with a sales person.

Yeah, that's the way their return policy works. I did some research on them and found several sites of customer complaints against them. Many, many unhappy people. So if you do buy from C.T, I urge you to ask about the return policy on the item you want to buy.

Well, everything worked out well in the end. C.T. was able to repair the unit. Apparently something with the carb. They tore it apart and now it runs well.

I do not shop at canadian tire after I was told that they would not do anything for me after I bought an air conditioner that broke after 30 days of use. And I quote "we are tying to run abuisness here, we don't want to take back your broken air conditioner". That tells me that once they have your money they can't give a #*@# less about you or the shotty product they sold you. That was over a year ago and I have not stepped into a canadian tire store since.

Glad to hear it all worked out. I had the same problem with a Dewalt drill I bought. It came with crappy batteries (one won't hold a charge for longer than 2-3 minutes use) right out of the case. Brought it in twice, got the run around.

Fortunately, I'm obsessive-compulsive so I eventually got what I paid for. Muahahahaha.
