Default Puff's 24 gallon Aquapod Reef (April 11th Update)

Hi again Canreef. it's time for an update. i got bored today and busted out the tripod this morning. i took what i think are some decent pics. unfortunately there are a lot of pics.lol.

the tank has been going quite well. it survived me being away for 2 weeks and leaving it in the hands of someone with no prior experience, and the worst thing that happened was that i ended up with a lot of brown flatworms. i bought a small sixline wrasse, and its efforts combined with my siphoning seems to be slowly getting rid of them.

Great pics...excellent colors. Really nice tank...how often do you do water changes? Do you use a skimmer?

i tend to do water changes about once a week. i usually do between 2.5 to 4 gallons when i do one. sometimes a bit less, sometimes more. i find that my xenia is an excellent water quality indicator, and have learned to read it pretty good (at least i think so.lol)

i also use a protein skimmer. right now it's a sapphire aquatics skimmer sitting in my HOB fuge, but i have a Tunze DOC nano 9002 (words in wrong order i think.lol) that i need to mod the fuge to fit into, but it is so quiet i cant wait to use it!

so the other day i decided to snap a bunch more pictures of my nano reef. mohawk (my tuxedo urchin) is up to his coiffalicious badness again. he has a whole new "head of hair", this time it's actually pretty funky!

everything in the tank seems to be doing very well. the only thing not doing great are my glacier blue palys, which have had trouble opening since i got back from my trip. they are slowly coming around, but nothing like they used to look like unfortunately.
