Potter's are definitely one of my favourite pygmy angels. Very nice!

Default Update:

So the potters died on me. This was my second try with one and my last. Long story short I suspect the source for the first one was the reason for its death. (LFS that it came from has a terrible holding system IMO.) This time around the fish was fine up until one day it stopped swimming around and the next it died.

As a whole the tank is doing great. I had a little problem with my Ca reactor and my params dropped pretty low Alk was down to 5dKH and calcium was at 350ppm. This led me to find out that Salifert test kits may be giving false readings. In which I ordered new elos test kits to cross check with my salifert ones. Turned out the Alk and Mg kit are fine, but the Ca was out by 50ppm. I have been raising the levels back to normal the past week and everything should be back to normal next week.

As for using the Zeovit system, so far I am loving it. The tank is always crystal clear, polyp extension is A1. The fish are also happier because they have been eating very well since I have basically been feeding them double of what they are used to before starting zeo.

Ya that is an amazing photo. I've never seen my Butterfly move that fast. Must be because of the Black spot. It's the turbo charger

Yeah, he loves ripping around the tank. We haven't been able to think of a good name for him. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about the angel.

How long have you been on zeovit now?

You know what's weird, I'm now on zeovit for a little over a month, about 7 weeks in now. So basically still a total newb startup, right? But I was sort of expecting to have seen a reduction in nuisance algaes by now? It hasn't happened. By nuisance algaes I mean specifically the green film I get on my glass and red cyano. In fact, I didn't have cyano before starting zeo, and now I have it fairly bad. I don't get it. Anyhow sorry for the hijack I'm not meaning to ask about why this is happening but I'm just curious if in particular you've noticed a difference in how often you have to clean your glass? If so, how long did it take, in your estimation, before you noticed a difference in the film/slime buildup rates?
