If you are looking in that mid-range, you might want to explore the new Reefkeeper Elite that is coming out shortly. Appears to be good value with great expandability. Price is good too. People seem very happy with the RK2 except for maybe the amount of amps the Powerbar takes. I think they bumped it on the RK Elite.
Just a thought though as I don't have one to test out.
