I can't decide. I remember seeing one of these cats sitting in a neighbour's window once and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Haha.

They truly are unique, if nothing else

Thanks Chaloupa, your guys are pretty cute too

Der Iron Chef, you need to see one in person. Everyone's first reaction is shock, but once they're over the initial reaction, they love them!

My cousin is extremely allergic to cats, however she was wondering if she would have allergies to a hairless cat. You said that you are not allergic right? Hummm I wonder if she would be. She ended up buying a couple of finches (birds) because of her allergies to cats and dogs, however she desperately wants a cat. I'll let her know your experience. Thanks for sharing.

Devons and Sphyxes are as close as you can get to a non-allergenic cat. Our breeder is allergic to cats, and she's got 13 devon rexs, and not an issue. We have friends that come over that are really allergic to our other cats (siamese), but they can pick these guys up, hold them, cuddle them and no reaction.

I find them quite "hypo-allergenic" but don't know that everyone would...I would suspect that they would be the very best for a person with allergies...I couldn't believe it when I didn't react at all to over 10 cats in their house and most of them in your face wherever you are. I also usually react to cats saliva but don't with these guys. Could be coincidence though. I would recommend them....I just love them! But they do take some getting used to...and your house needs to be a comfortable temp...our guys were kept in a very very very warm house (which is not necessary) so have had to adjust over the last week to our meek 74 as compared to over 84+...they sure couldn't have reef tanks! They do well at 70-74 so a normal house...unless of course you have reef tanks and try to keep the room cool... so the tanks don't overheat!

Another breed to look into is the Bengal, they are claimed to be hypo-allergenic as well.Ours is a spotted bengal and has more of a pelt then cat fur.

I checked into the Devon Rex once, as I am allergic to cats. Since then, I've been allergy tested and am allergic to cat saliva.

Ten minutes into a room full of Devon Rex and I could barely breath.
