For some reason the link didn't work for me but after googling it and seeing pictures of "Acanthurus chirurgus" .. I would agree that it does look like that's what it could be.
Very pretty fish, I don't think I've ever seen one before. Hope he fattens up and does well! ![]()

The tail in the link from fishbase isn't quite right though, hence my fence sitting. Some of the pictures show a yellow or white ring on the tail, which I'm about 90% sure the fish doesn't have.
He is going to give the fish 24 more hours and then decide what to do with it. I may put up a post on his behalf tomorrow if he feels the fish's interests are best served elsewhere. |

That is a nice fish. If for some reason he wants to sell it or if he needs a place to keep it to get it healthy.....Im interested.
ok...I agree I think it is a doctorfish and it can get up to 15" long. so on that note...he will get to big for the tank I have now. some info http://marinebio.org/species.asp?id=27 Last edited by BC564; 12-17-2007 at 11:38 PM. |

Cool! Thanks for the firm ID on it. Are they a common fish? I think this is the first one I have ever seen!
