Default Best Sugar Sand

I have decided since 12 gallons isn't going to require that much LS that I would add some of the special sugar sand when I get my Aquapod 12. Just before I get my sand, does anyone have a particular preference as to which sand is the best and why? I'm looking at Seachem Meridian™ Tidal Marine Substrate sand, but I notice it isn't aragamax, but it is supposed to have some other buffering properties to it. Its super small though, 0.25-0.55, and I'm wondering if that would be too small, as the water would never clear, clarity please?

Think what you want the sand for and see towards the bottom of this article re: sand size, to help choose.

Good idea skipping the LS as just wasting funds. Setup tank with dry sand and LR and leave to cycle. Life from the rock will seed the sand or if you're worried it won't just a handful from a established tank. Important not to rush (eg add water one day and that colourful acro the next).
