i just used a 1" pvc cap with a 1" union (if that is what it is called ) for extra length to get the pump further in the water and the wavysea further out of the water. but the union slips right over the orings of the wavysea shaft and it holds it tight

Hmmm. That's exactly what I did, except the 1" coupler doesn't fit snugly over the shaft, that's why I used teflon to tighten it up a bit.
Oh well, sorry for hijacking your thread. And thanks for your help! At least I know others are trying this and it's working ![]()

My camera has a rapid fire setting on it, I have had good results by just holding the button and following the fish I want a picture of.
