![]() My problem is that my tank is a Bare Bottom 240 Gallon and 1200 GPH is not very much.
With a bare bottom tank, I have the opportunity to REALLY push the flow. I also like the fact the the Vortechs motor is outside of the tank for heat and electrical reasons.... |

![]() Why not go back to some new Tunzes? With a BB 240 you're open to a ton of flow.
The Vortechs are nice but as someone mentioned they can't be aimed. There's a new controller out, but I haven't seen any reviews. If the Vortech's initial teething difficulties are anything to go by (see fishface's experience), I'd wait a bit to see if any problems come with the first batch of Vortech controllers. |

![]() I vouch for the Hydor Koralias, too. I've had lots of problems with the Tunze Nanostreams, and none with the Koralia that I picked up a few months ago.
The Vortechs are so expensive, and it's fairly limited. I don't think heat would be much of an issue with the Koralias, because they operate on such a low wattage, respectively. The flow you could achieve with three or four Koralia 4's would be much better, IMO. |
