DI water

ya i have no idea what the tds is here in kitchener, ontario but i got im using it to get rid of silicates. The phosphate in the area is low but the silicates are high. My tank and acros have been doing really well, good growth and colour but i just think theres room for improvment.

also how often did you change your media??? when the media darkens you change it right???

How quickly you need to change the DI resin is dependant on the TDS of your tap water. The lower the TDS, the longer between changes.

You could buy a TDS meter or ask your local city government. But probably the easiest way to tell is to ask a local reefer or an LFS that deals in SW.

They go from deep green to a lighter yellowy colour. It's in the instruction booklet.
