Do an Internet search for Stomatella Varia snails. They breed in my tanks and they look similar to what you describe.

I dug out the biggest one I could find now that I really look there probably about 30+

That snail looks a lot like the ones that eat zoos, but I can't remember what they are called. They are supposed to have a red and black checkered pattern on them...
