Default Problem with remora pro skimmer

Hi there.

I have had this skimmer for 6 months with no problems untill Monday. I did a heavy clean of it. Soaked it in some vinegar and water and took the pump apart and cleaned it.(Only the part that i could). Put it all back together and now it produces great foam but it is all really really wet. It will fill the collection cup in 2 hours. Doesn't matter what level i put the cup at it does it anyways. Did i miss something? Anybody had this problem?

Thanks
Lisa

From what I've heard, They will do that when they are cleaned.
It will probably be like that for a bit.
Then start to slown down until its back around normal.

Remoras require a slime coat of organics inside them to work properly. The stated break-in preriod is for this to develop. Once you've cleaned the slime off, it needs to re-develop again. Essentially, you're re-breaking-in the skimmer.

Be patient, it'll come back.

Thanks everyone. I can deal with that. What is odd is it never did this before. Although i have never really cleaned it that well with vinegar before either. It does seem a little better this morning.

Thanks
Lisa
