Default clownfish quarrel

My false percs had been living together in my magnifica for about six months when suddeny, the slightly smaller of the two (they are about 1 yr old) stopped living in the anemone. He isn't chased out by the bigger one, who is not aggressive towards him at all. He will sometimes retreat there if my hand is in the tank, but 99.9% of the time he's now at the other end of the tank just hanging out. They used to be right next to eachother all the time, often doing the little vibro-dance, but the flame is apparently out. Anyone had a similar experience?

I'm wondering if it has something to do with reaching sexual maturity or some sort of hormonal transition - the one in the anemone has, over the last few months, become the substantially larger of the two, and is presumably the female. I dont' know why i think this could be driving them apart - should bring them together.... just considering the possibilities.
