FWIW, I got word from Roger the tunze rep on RC... He mentioned the pumps life is only expected to be 18-24 months.

If you're looking for good top off pump get dosing pump (peristaltic).

i know its been awhile for this post...just thought i'd sread my finding......
there is a guy on ebay from calgary who sells a "12volt wowpump 200gph" they are cheap and work great. You can get 4 for what JL charges for one.

Crazy I've been running mine for 3 years without any problems. I guess I have something to look forward to. Might pick up a new pump just to have on hand
