I store it in the fridge, but I don't think storage has much to do with it becuase when you go to use it, it will be at room temp and that temp it will become thinner regardless. I don't believe the glue will set fast enough if it was any thicker, unless you allow it to dry partially under water. I prefer having it dry almost completely in the air. The thicker it is the longer it takes to set.
