I use Joe's juice and try to stay on top of them because like you say they can take over. I would watch it though because it can cause your calcium/alk levels to get out of whack if you use too much. If you have that many I would be tempted to take the rock out and put it in a bucket and wait for the little suckers to appear and then nuke them.

You could try a chocolate chip starfish, that is if mantis shrimp don't eat them

Or trap the mantis and nuke all the rock with kalkwasser

Some species of Mantis will leave peppermint shrimp alone, so you could try one of those if you feel adventurous..
