What kind of clam is this?

What are you planning to feed him?
I always thought clams needed phyto to eat, but I was talking with someone last week and they said that there has been some research recently that shows clams don't do that much with phyto and usually eat bigger stuff.
Think there's any truth to this?

I once tried to squirt a piece of mysis shrimp into my clam. It spat it out pretty quickly.

I think adequate lighting + calcium is what clams need most.
