you need some silicone grease. Put that on the O-Rings for the inlet and outlet and also the orange "D" ring for the lid. This will solve your problem.

Of course this is assuming you left no air pockets in the canister when you first filled it. I have noticed it can take a little bit of time for the air to be drawn out completely if I left some.
