Yes it is HOB type. I got the small drip to stop but still lot's of bubbles and no skimmate yet although it has only been an hour. I turned it down to 1/4 to stop the bubbles but that was where I had it before the mod so I turned it about 3/4 open and will see what happens...still lot's of bubbles but maybe they will diminish in time...I HOPE!!! LOL I was hoping this would improve my skimming for a few monthes until I could afford a better skimmer.

Is it HOB right on the tank, or in a sump?

Ahh... hence the micro-bubbles.

When I turned my skimmer up to max, the outflow was a lot more.
This cause way more turbulance/bubbles in my sump.

Is it microbubbles you have or air entrapment because of the increased flow?

You could use a piece of pond filter, stick it in the ouput ramp of the skimmer to act as a bubble trap. I have my filter actually submerged in the output chamber just before it hits the exit ramp, altho you will need to clean it on a regular basis.
