Mine came out from 9am till 3pm every day. Very rarely did it stay out past 4:30pm. Wrasse are just strange that way & I find leopard wrasse like to keep strange hours. At the LFS, they had a hard time selling them because they never came out during opening hours.
Hopefully yours is in an established tank so it can find some nice pods & mysis running around to forage on. I would try to stay up late (who am I kidding, I do that anyways  ) & feed him some mysis or something to get him eating.Good luck. Anthony
