![]() I don't think it is a lighting issue, I did a tank swap a few months back and have used all the same equipment. The only real changes I have made aside the increased water volume was a new sand bed, since moving over the livestock the nitrate has become undetectable. Not sure if the sand bed is playing a role in this.

![]() I've been using flourish nitrogen to bring my nitrate up a bit I'm using 2ml a day it keeps the nitrates at about .2 in 90-100 gallons. i did a lot of reading first as its made for freshwater but I found info on a flourish forum from a scientist at seaChem saying it's reef safe.

![]() I dosed for 2 weeks colors improved phosphate went down to the point I took gfo offline. But I also noticed algae starting to grow a bit so I backed off for a week after a week algae stopped growing completely and sps has paled out a bit again also nitrate back to 0. Im started again today I will try 1ml a day for now. Trying to find the perfect balance. Also phosphate went up to .07ish when I stopped dosing while dosing nitrate phosphates dropped to .02-.03.

![]() Judging by seachems analysis the available nitrogen is at 0.007 and phosphate is 0.01 does this not mean that flourish would add more phosphate than nitrate?

![]() That is SeaChem Flourish which is a trace/micro element supplement. There are a bunch of "Flourish" additives. Anyone who is using the Flourish products for nitrate addition is using Flourish Nitrogen, and those using it for phosphate addition are using Flourish Phosphorus. There are lots of people using these two products, they seem to be safe for reef use.
