I use a plexi-glass box to shoot through to reduce glare, etc.

I use a little acrylic box too. I make sure the lens is butted right up to the acylic otherwise I'll still get light reflections. Sometimes I have to sort of have the whole thing at a slight angle just to avoid interference from the lights. Basically it takes a little trial and error.
