Refugium - 12 or 24 hour?

I run my fuge on a reverse cycle. As far as hours go its whenever i remember to turn it on at night and off the next day. (haven't hooked up my timer yet for it.. ) I try for around 12hours though.

I have Chaeto and some nice red Macro I just got. Also have a wack of rock for extra filtration and incase i need it in another tank sometime.
I have pods and Stomatella snails that breed like crazy in there. The only inhabitant is my "African Canadian" Emerald Crab. Yes i still have him Bev.
