Um, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure MH use extremely high voltage (low current) to fire, not the other way around.
Danny: double check your grounding of the fixture itself, it doesn't seem like it should make a difference, but for some reason some bulbs just wont fire consistantly/properly if the fixture itself isn't properly grounded. Andy
