![]() Starting tomorrow all 911 calls in B.C. will be transitioned and handled by operators in Vancouver which have many northerners shaking their heads wondering why? I understand the need to centralize services but why Vancouver? A good many lower mainlanders do not understand just how far spread out we are in the north and in a lot of cases the closest emergency services are over an hour away and if the operator in Vancouver does not know that and sends the wrong station call....

![]() Still ''Have'' a book full of problems with Dispatch in alberta. They have flip flopped to cutting down the number of dispatch centers since April 2009.
It makes sense from a money, written on paper view point when you try to implement the dispatch center trying to dispatch from 600 km's away you run into a long list of problems. |
