911 service calls being moved
Starting tomorrow all 911 calls in B.C. will be transitioned and handled by operators in Vancouver which have many northerners shaking their heads wondering why? I understand the need to centralize services but why Vancouver? A good many lower mainlanders do not understand just how far spread out we are in the north and in a lot of cases the closest emergency services are over an hour away and if the operator in Vancouver does not know that and sends the wrong station call....

had issues in Alberta when setting up a response program for some of our remote sites. Different Fire Depts even recognized it and ended up giving backdoor numbers

Still ''Have'' a book full of problems with Dispatch in alberta. They have flip flopped to cutting down the number of dispatch centers since April 2009.
It makes sense from a money, written on paper view point when you try to implement the dispatch center trying to dispatch from 600 km's away you run into a long list of problems. |
But isn't that why you live in a remote part of town? To be "away from it all"
Don't see why you are complaining. If it's an issue, move closer. Plus you will get more coral store options;) |
