![]() I can't make up my mind. Should I paint the back of my tank or leave it clear? I was planning on painting it starting at the top . white / ( middle ) whitish blue / to dark blue near the bottom for a depth perseption kind of look.
Anybody have any thoughts. Thanks for the help.

![]() It depends if you want to look at your wall or not. I painted mine a light blue.
Thicker at the bottem for a deep water look.

![]() Is the tank in front of a wall? If you have a tank room behind the tank, then leave the tank open so you can view from the behind.

![]() Man I had to do some digging to find you this link!!!
http://www.weatherson.com/background_panel.htm Might give you some good ideas, especially having it removable. Much easier to paint a piece of tenplast (plastic cardboard) and see your results, versus painting the tank directly. ![]()

![]() there's a thread on RC somewhere where the guy does something similar, but then he even backlights it so it looks like you're laying on the bottom of the reef and looking up towards the surface.
Having said that. I have one tank that's got a blue background and have one that was built with a black one. I love the black. All my tanks will be done this way in the future

![]() It's kinda funny. My tanks black, I thought long and hard before I painted it. Now, once the coraloine has grown on it, I think I wnat a Blue background LOL. Tanks appear larger to me with a blue background.
Maybe its just that your never happy with what you got LOL

![]() I used a sheet of acrylic from Home Depot painted it blue and use velcro to hold it to the tank. It is still translucent and it kind of glows with light behind it.
