So I bought this coral a few weeks ago, nice big piece... which was a big mistake. My 20g is too small for this big piece..

As much as I LOVE this type of coral, I just can't make room for it, and would like room for other corals as well. This piece is huge, and I am very sorry I have no picture available, the piece is probably about 7-8" long, definitely a good piece. I am willing to trade, the piece cost me 55$ .. I am looking for a nice hammer coral, preferablly with green coloration in it, also looking for torch coral, ricordia, any kind of funky zoanthids... mainly looking for a nice hammer ! Shoot me a PM if you're interested !

Are you going to frag a piece to keep for yourself? I know that it can be done but don't personally know how easy it is to do. I think all you have to worry about is not damaging too much flesh. Just make a clean break of the skeleton then take a sharp knife and cut the flesh above the skeleton.

Hey thanks.. maybe I will try and frag a tiny piece off! I will look around for some links on fragging.

If I do frag it, I will drop the price ! I'll let you know.

Becareful fragging the coral. Actually, I'm not sure if you can safely frag it.

No fragging then. Piece stays as is... it's a nice piece anyhow.. I don't want to break it in any way either.

			So price stands ... $50

Is it a branching coral? If so, you can frag it.

Ive fraged my pearl bubble. The skeleton was about 8" long, and I fraged it into about 5 pieces. Just cut the skeleton with side cutters, it will break the skeleton up to the flesh. Then take a razor blade and cut the meat. Even small pieces that are left over from fragging will grow, as long as your water quality is good.

It's not branching and I am still not going to frag this piece. I have no experience and don't want to ruin this nice big piece in any way.
