Default test salt mix?

i just got done testing my newly mixed pail of instant ocean gettting ready for water change day this week. Been working on getting my KH and calcium up to beter leves in my tank
right now calcium is 360ppm and 6dKH or 107.4ppm KH

tested my new mix and the calcium was good 460ppm but the KH seems high at 15dKH or 268.5ppm

does the KH seem high to anyone else ? or why would it be so high?

Did you retest? Possible error in testing? What test kit are you using?

The Alk value looks like a tap water value. Are you using tap? My kh was very high before I switched to RO/DI. Otherwise, I have no idea.

Default High kH

Hi,

I had a similar problem with Instant Ocean. I never was able to solve it so I switched to H20 and now I rarely have to adjust the KH or the Ca or the Mg -especially the Mg. It cost me $20.00/mo when using IO but with H20 I rarely have to add Mg.
