Default Rock turning white

Where my rock was a nice purple it has turned bright white at the highest point of the rock as if it was splashed with bleach.

Any Ideas??

Any hermit crabs? Mine always seem to feast on coraline algae.

IMO its the new lights. I just upgraded my lighting and noticed some coraline loss on some rocks, aswell as some mild bleaching of corals. It should grow back in time. If I was smart I would have reduced my photo period, and over time gradually increased it again rather than subject everything in my tank to such intense lighting all at once.
