Default Astreas

Man, I love them.

They haven't been given good reviews by some on here but for the current tank I have, they are awesome with the glass cleaning. They have grown to five times the size since I bought them.

Helps they don't get knocked off the glass maybe by whatever.

Bad pic but here were some of them tonite. Yah, the camera was upside down I think....

I have always loved astrea's pound for pound I think they are the best snails out there. they don't eat quite as much as turbos but they are not a bull in a china shop like turbos

I don't think so, I've had a few of those, the shells are much rounder and they spend more time on rock ???

Don't forget these snails are years old. I could be wrong of course.

trochus snails are pyramid shaped, in fact I have a hard time telling the difference between astreas and trochus in photographs

http://www.reefland.com/rho/0305/medprod3.php

second photo is a trochus

No worries Colin, my confusion is that I didn't buy trochus snails, I bought astreas, or so I thought, and so did the person selling them.... Good link Marie !

They are mature astreas, I saw some trochus again today. I remember them and they are not the same shell shape as these.
