Peppermint shrimp are scavengers. They do not need aptasia to survive. They "help" to control your aptasia. So you would'nt be starving it if you were to introduce one to your tank.

I beleive only the fry that are big enough to eat them. Mine would only eat mysis shrimp. Lots of experts on seahorses that will chime in so don't take my word for it.

Just so you know a harlequin shrimp will eat most seastars. I still buy sand sifting seastars and freeze them to feed small chunks to the harlequin. Really cool critter, one of my fav's in my tank.
