Well as long as everything is immersed in water there shouldn't be any smell coming from the tank. The "smell of the ocean" isn't actually the ocean itself (unless its salty smell), its ocean...

Nice score! Give it room from anything with stinging/sweeper tentacles as I've found they're pretty susceptible to getting stung. Mid-tank should do for lighting :biggrin:

Yep I've used it, can't say I see any better results than regular carbon though. The chemi-pure elite is supposed to have a phosphate remover in it, I haven't tried it though.

Once a week isn't necessarily a bad thing but to me its a waste of carbon, I change monthly or if the tank is looking kind of scuzzy I"ll change it more often than that, never more often than 2 weeks.
