I'd go with bleached but I have seen a few at the store looking like that so not sure. I don't have much experience with them but I would imagine that if it does well it will eventually darken up.

+1 and FWIW my calculations make that tank out to be 50 gallons not 30. At 5 years old I can't imagine that fish growing much more than it already has. Not to defend the guy but...maybe he does know...

naw I don't think I can do a naso unless they've made a dwarf version. Once the wafer algae starts to "plate" its easy to siphon out but I'm hoping the ultralith does the trick :biggrin:

it does kinda look cool but eventually covers every rock and gets to plague proportions. It also gives the tank a dull brown overcast which is less than attractive. I don't mind it in small patches...

Yes it does lower the pH a bit, my tank currently runs at about 7.9-8.0 but prior to dosing I was using a calcium reactor that kept the tank at about 7.8 with no problems. I'm not as hung up on pH...
