Well if the skimmer is still working that mean that there was no short circuit in the tank. Most power bar have a circuit breaker to prevent this.

Probably a short circuit and electricity...

Nah...nothing to do with it. It was in deed with the fish because I have large caves and overhang in my tank so the shrimps were active in there with the fish...just not on the fish, never ever.

Ok that explain why 50ml was still enough to create a bacteria bloom. You should start with something like 10ml and build your way up. I think 50ml was too much to quick.
