No prob. It's just oxidizing. I keep my salt in a bucket, half the size of the one it's sold in, with no lid. Easier for me for storage that way. It's always crusty and chunky. I just use a garden...

The water level in the second chamber is even with the bottom of the float valve bobber, (when the bobber is up, thus closing the valve)....
