Depends on what kind of live stock, Reef etc. Most people run carbon, gfo and or biopellets in their reactors.

I agree with Myka, dip it. At the very least whatever comes off can have a closeup photo taken and a better identification. I'm always interested in hitchhikers that I haven't saw before.
