It very well could have been a bad pump. I was glad to get rid of it though, they aren't the most energy efficient pumps out there.

Mags aren't pressure rated so putting them under additional load would shorten their life shouldn't it? I killed a mag 18 in pretty short time using on a becket skimmer. Personally, I'd get baffles...

I only have 12" head pressure because the sump is behind the tank on it's own stand. I'm a bit high on the flow side but I don't have too much in the way of micro bubbles.

What do you need? Right now I can do frags of pink rimmed cap, orange cap, frogspawn, green candy cane & bule prostrata (acro). Everything else is pretty small still. They should all make the 7-8...

Regardless of the price of jugs and refills, you'll pay for an RODi unit after about 75 jugs worth of top ups and water changes. Buying a filter was the way to go after I really did the math.

Is the turn over rate determined by the tank size or the sump size? My tank at 65 gallons means I have almost 14x turnover, but my sump at 25 gallons gives me a 36x turnover rate. (Mag 9.5 return)

You must have the same cheep one as me. When my valve leaked the manufacturer recommended hot vinegar water passed through it over and over until it stopped. I did it, leak stopped, problem solved.

I think the correct answer would be to GIVE me the 90 gallon on my way back from Castlegar May long. That way you don't have to worry about what to do with it.:mrgreen:

I guess the one in the video was run by a prototype controller, so the real controllers will be out this summer.

I realize the OM is higher qualilty and can handle higher flow, which probably works very well on your 180. My 65 would only demand SQWD I think.

Hmm, not a bad idea at all. Just read up on them, 1200 GPH isn't bad, just one is equivelent to all of my MJ1200 combined. The site I looked at said they can be controlled by a JBJ pulse controller,...
