i would say xanthidea crab as well , same familly as emerald crabs . I had some big black ones that where harmless .The spoon shapped pincered crabs are usualy ok.

a 2 or 3 day cycle can be done using products like dr tims and you could add fish but i find when using dry rock i always get quite an algea bloom.With a bunch of fish it will be hard to control...

you will see them it will just take more fish to add movement to the tank , i like lots of small fish too. Blennies are great , some small wrasses are good open water swimming fish as are fire fish .
