Can you take a pic of it, so we can how it is setup? Thanks. Depending on its build, they may be many ways to quite it down.

This is what it looks like, but ive changed the exit from the gate valve to just return to 1, 1.5in opening and the opening is under water so it doesnt make noise

The noise is coming from the little rubber intake tube

Put some type of silencer in it. Most air intakes of protein skimmers I know come with them as they do get really noisy.

This is a clear one. If you take a look at the end of the tube there's a cylindrical plastic that acts as a silencer.

I'm pretty sure it's easy to diy one with a small cylindrical container or pvc pipes and a couple of air tubes, but I just cant find links right now.

Ahhh, the air intake....

Yes, you need a silencer. You can easily make one.

What you need:

- 1 small/medium sized pill bottle, empty and cleaned out
- 1 short airline tube
- Drill
- Drill bit to match the size of the airline tubing but be very tight

Instructions:

Drill 2 holes of the same size in the end of the pill bottle.
Put the short airline tube in one of the holes, and put the one coming from your protein skimmer in the other.

DONE! That is it. You can now use your protein skimmer and the air intake will be quiet. No more gurgling.

Hope the above helps,

Rick
