Default Epson Salt to raise mag?

Epson Salt is Magnesium Sulfate right? Can we use that to raise our mg in our tanks? I see a huge thing of Epson salt at walmart for like 8 bucks, way cheaper than mg sold in fish stores.

Thoughts?

Yes it's USP grade Magnesium Sulfate same or even a higher grade then sold in fish stores. Best to use the proper mix of 5 cups Mag Chloride and 3 cups Mag Sulfate for 1 gallon RODI water when dosing though. This is so that you don't build up excess sulfate in your tank from strictly dosing Mag Sulfate.

Yeah, mix like dcw1sfu says if you use 2-part dosing system. If you have a calcium reactor, then the mix is 8.5:1.
